I have crossed borders so many times that I cannot count them. Botswana used to be a weekend place for me. It’s only a 4-hour (or less) drive from Johannesburg (North) to Gaborone, where my parents used to live. They have now moved to Kasane as my father is based there for work. He is there on a project that will see us saying goodbye to crossing the border by ferry on the Zambezi. Quite exciting actually. He even had to take a trip to Japan prior to the commencement of the project. If I’m not mistaken, the project is funded by the World Bank but Japan is involved somewhere. He doesn’t talk shop much.
It might not be a quick disappearance but considering how long travelers have been crossing between Botswana and Zambia on a ferry, the suspended bridge that is being built will soon make the Zambezi Cruiser
